  • Virus: Junonia Coenia Densovirus

  • Name: Junonia Coenia

  • Nickname: Jun

  • Sex: Female

  • Virus History: Junonia Coenia Densovirus, or JcDNV for short, is a autonomous parvovirus that infects the larvae of the common buckeye butterfly, Junonia coenia. It is a single-stranded DNA virus that infects not only the buckeye butterfly, but many other vertebrates, responsible for gene exchange across species. In insects, JcDNV enters the body via ingestion of the virus, which enters the insects midgut. There is a latent period of 6 hours, after which the virus begins to act and infect the bug, releasing viral particles in the body. After about 10-15 hours, enough of these particles are produced to cause cytolysis, where cells burst due to an imbalance of water inside/out of the cell. Infection of trachael cells result impair oxygen delivery to other cells , also resulting in cytopathic effects. The whole process of replication takes about 20-24 hours. The tissues breakdown in about 4-6 days after viral inoculation, resulting in larval death. JcDNV can be used as a mosquito repellant in humans, if infected.
  • What She Does: Jun can enter a human many ways, a few of these including acquiring of allergies, sniffing of infected flowers from infected insects, and being around infected flowers/insects in general; however she is not limited to just these ways. Once entered, she can help, harm, or choose to be neutral for the infected human. If chosen to help, she may help fight off against mosquito and other pest infections such as tick, fleas, etc. She can harm a human by replicating in the same process as in an insect. For some time she may lie dormant, but after, she will act, heading for the humans midgut, and spreading the infection there first. While she is busy spreading the viral particles throughout the rest of the body, the infected human may begin to show symptoms of viral infection days later, such as flu-like symptoms of sneezing, coughing, and faintness of breath. If not stopped, cytolysis will start to take place, and the human will die within a few hours. If Jun chooses to become neutral in the human body, perhaps she finds it acceptable, she can do nothing, or a mix of things. Helping the human here and there, maybe spreading a few viral particles around for fun, etc. She is neither inherently evil nor good in the human body unless chemically modified.
  • Hobbys and Personality: Jun, despite not being a truly evil virus, likes to have control of the body she's in. She enjoys knowing what goes around, so she often frequents hot spots in the body such as clubs, bars, and restaurants to hear all the juicy details. She enjoys using her feminine wiles to lure in bacterias and other antibodies (etc), lead them on for days, and then infect them with her virus for fun. Because the body of a butterfly is beautiful and more well-maintained than that of a human's, she has high-standards.
  • Appearance: Jun is a virus with indian-red colored coating, and small devilish horns on her head. Round loop earring-like ears are in place of where human ears would be. She has medium-short black hair with bangs that cover her left eye, and spike in the back. Her eyes are lavender. She has a scar that runs vertically across her right eye, and also near her stomach from a bad run-in with a virus. A single dark beauty mark can be seen near her lips on the left side, and her lips are full and luscious, adding to her femininity. Though her outfits may change, she can commonly be seen wearing black gloves that hide her hands. This is because when she infects something, her nails become sharper and blotches become apparent, so she hides her hands from wary eyes.
Finally wrote up a Biography for my OJ Jun after a whole year of creating her. I changed the kind of virus she is, though she's pretty much still the same, thankfully. I think a butterfly suites her better to originate from than a rat anyway. Not that rats aren't classy or anything, but she's a high-class lady.

I've also created a new account just for her for this OJ Group I'm in here on dA, you can find her here :iconjunbugplz:
